YOU call me DARLING,
YOU call me LOVE,
YOU call me NAMES as if we were ONE
LIES are all that’s understood.
False hopes and dreams of us being more.
Labeled black for all eternity
I can not love, I can not care
For beings of this pathetic race.
Blessed with the pain of seeing what is.
Seeing your internal intentions,
I can see the monster behind the mask
Ever searching for the weakness in my heart.
Refer me not as you and you not as me.
Dream of me not, for I belong in no such place.
Only the darkest reaches of my nightmares.
When you close your eyes what do you see that hides behind?
No matter how perfect you proclaim to be
Deep within lays a flaw or two that’s deeper than the eye can see.
You try to touch me to calm the rage that burns inside.
Only to have it flare up in your face.
Scorching you in a fire storm of hatred.
I don’t need another soul to keep me warm.
Not when I have a raging fire this hot!
YOU call me DARLING,
YOU call me LOVE,
YOU call me NAMES as if we were ONE
Trying to touch me to calm the rage,
only to burn your hand,
leave me be, I don’t need you to keep me warm.
