Untitled

I lost a lover who was the mother of a child that thought of me as a father.
Together they taught me what it means to be a man,
to fend for a family I’d never thought I’d have.
Heart beats and sighs, hours lost staring in her eyes, while distant voices are lost at sea.
No earthly chains kept them from walking through each other’s dreams.
Each passing day he discovered something new about her.
Tears from the sky, tore the lands apart as they said their last good goodbyes.
A broken man wanders a broken land with a picture of what once was burned inside his head.
Along the road they traveled together, he sings her favorite songs remembering,
that he once had a woman he loved that was the mother of a child who thought of him as a father.
