Lust

The day I set eyes on you I knew the world was coming down.
Preachers spewing Jesus from their self-righteous lips
Infected hearts by one of seven deadly strains
Enticing me with your flesh, the devil would be proud of your promiscuity.
Sailing fast in hells waters to an early grave dug by sin
The day the dead was laid out, the second I sighed
Eternal thirst, slithering snakes and echoing voices
Bleeding skies, shelters won’t keep the guilt safe
All I can think about you body laid out for the feast
Insecurities checked at the door when inside of you.
Your lips on my tongue, all dreams turn to fantasy.
Waking to a body aching for another of your fixes.
We both sold our souls, both gave into lust.
I’m on my knees praying while you scream out for a savior
Fingers run down my back chased by blood
God turned his back and left the children to their game.
